Powtoon is a visual communication platform that gives you the freedom to create professional and fully customized videos. It offers a free version and three paid plans, and the maximum length of your videos depends on the plan you have selected.

Powtoon includes a vast video template gallery, and you can instantly edit your preferred templates to say just what you need to get the word out. You can use their templates to make your message unforgettable. You will find many templates in categories such as Marketing, Sales, Training, Learning & Development, Internal Comms, HR, Industries, and more.

As you can tell from Powtoon’s mission, “So everyone can animate,” the app has a real emphasis on animation. Indeed, they believe they are the world’s leading, most user-friendly, and most intuitive animation software. They aim to make it possible for anybody, “even if you don’t know a pixel from a proxy server,” to create engaging, animated videos with a professional look and feel.

You can begin using Powtoon with its free plan, but most serious users will pay for one of its higher-level plans. You can select either a monthly or annual plan, with the annual plans working out substantially cheaper per month, if you are prepared to commit for that time. 

With the free plan, you can only make short videos, lasting up to three minutes. Your production comes with Powtoon branding. You have access to a selection of free soundtracks and select royalty-free objects.

Powtoon calls its entry-level paid plan its Pro plan. This will cost you $89 per month, but if you are prepared to commit to a year, the price drops considerably to a mere $19 per month. This means that it only takes three months of usage to make an annual subscription worthwhile. For this, you can make five premium exports per month with the Powtoon branding removed. You have access to a greater selection of royalty-free music and objects.

For $197 per month (or an average of $59 per month on an annual plan), you can buy the Pro + plan. At the time of writing, the annual plan is down to $468, $39 per month. This gives you all the features of the Pro plan, but you can make videos up to 20 minutes long. This also gives you unlimited access to royalty-free music and objects.

Agencies have their own plan (on an annual basis only), costing the equivalent of $99 per month. This includes everything in the Pro + plan, with videos up to 30 minutes long. You also have a few additional features, such as third-party resell rights and advanced animation.
