Emma Chamberlain


Emma Chamberlain is an American YouTube and social media star best-known for her quirky videos online. Since posting her first video in 2017, Emma has been dubbed “the most talked about influencer in the world.” Her work has led her to collaborate with several major brands, including Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and more. 

In addition to her work online, Emma has her own line of merchandise, her own mail-order coffee company and her own podcast called “Stupid Genius.”


Emma Frances Chamberlain was born on May 22, 2001 in San Bruno, California to parents Michael and Sofia. Emma grew up in San Mateo County, and her parents split when she was five years old. 

Emma grew up attending a Catholic prep high school and ran track and field and did cheerleading. She ended up leaving high school after her junior year when she passed the California High School Exit Exam. 

As of September 2021, Emma Chamberlain has more than 13.6 million followers on Instagram, 3.8 million followers on Twitter, 10.6 million subscribers on YouTube, and 10.4 million followers on TikTok. 

Emma uploaded her first YouTube video in 2017 and continued posting daily throughout the summer. Even though she posted frequently, her channel didn’t take off. Her first video to go viral was titled “We All Owe The Dollar Store An Apology” and from then on, she began to gain subscribers quickly. She gained thousands of subscribers a week. 

By 2019, Emma had become known as a pioneer on YouTube and the internet. Mainstream news outlets had picked up on her millions of subscribers and followers across all platforms and wrote feature stories on her. The Atlantic ran an article that dubbed her “the most talked about influencer in the world.” The article was titled “Emma Chamberlain Is the Most Important YouTuber Today.” 

Emma has collaborated with a number of major brands over the years, including Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Target, and more. 

In 2019, Emma launched her very own podcast title “Stupid Genius,” which puts out episodes weekly.

Emma has received a number of accolades for her work on social media. TIME Magazine named her to their TIME 100 Next list in 2019 and their list of the 25 Most Influential People on the Internet. In the excerpt, TIME wrote that “Chamberlain pioneered an approach to vlogging that shook up YouTube’s unofficial style guide.” In 2020, Variety included Emma on their Power of Young Hollywood list.
