Loren Gray is an American singer and social media personality from Pottstown, Pennsylvania who is signed to Capitol Records and Virgin Records. With more than 44 million TikTok followers, Loren is the fourth most-followed personality on the platform.
The young singer first joined musical.ly (now known as TikTok) in 2015 and quickly gained a significant following. The singer now has more than 44 million followers on TikTok, more than 15 million followers on Instagram, more than 3 million YouTube subscribers and 1 million Twitter followers.
Loren Gray Beech was born on April 19, 2002 in Pennsylvania. Loren first started posting to musical.ly when she was in middle school in 2015 and quickly grew her following. The Pennsylvania native was bullied in the 6th grade for her online presence.
She eventually left school and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her singing career with her family and amassed millions of followers on social media. Her main Instagram account is @loren, but she has six different accounts for different types of posting, like a goof-off account and two accounts for her dogs.
From March 2019 to March 2020, Loren was TikTok’s most-followed social media personality. She posted singing videos, lip-sync videos and dancing videos before the rise of stars like Charli D’amelio and Addison Rae. Now, with more than 54 million followers, she is TikTok’s fourth-most-followed personality. Her fans are known as her “Angle Squad.”
In 2017, the young singer appeared in English singer HRVY’s music video for “Personal.”
Loren signed with Virgin Records in March 2018 ahead of her debut single “My Story” in the fall. The single is based on a friend who kept falling in love with all the wrong people.
Several months later, in November, she released “Kick You Out,” a single produced by Ido Zmishlany (Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes). Her third single, “Queens,” was released in December 2018 produced by Loren and Captain Cuts, comprised of Halsey, Walk to Moon and The Chainsmokers. The music video for her third single was released shortly after and has received more than 12 million views.
In April 2019, Loren released two new singles, “Options” and “Lie Like That.” That same year, Lost Kings featured Loren in their 2019 single “Anti-Everything.” Captain Cuts helped write and produce both singles.
For her single “Options,” Loren brought in Nija (comprised of Jason Derulo and Chris Brown) to help collaborate. Australian artist Ivy Adara helped produce “Lie Like That.”
In May 2019, Loren released her new single “Can’t Do It” featuring rapper Saweetie. The single was her first single featuring another artist.
Loren was spotted in Taylor Swift’s music video “The Man” in 2020, one of the most popular songs from Taylor’s new album.
Loren’s latest single “Cake” was released in May 2020 following nearly a yearlong break from releasing new songs.
Loren cites Justin Bieber and Eminem as some of her favorite artists and biggest musical influences. She has said she wants to collaborate with Eminem, her favorite artist, more than any other musician.
