Addison Rae, originally born Addison Rae Easterling, is an American social media personality and TikTok dancer based in Lafayette, Louisiana. She has more than 46 million followers on TikTok and is the second most-followed personality on the platform.

The 19-year-old dancer joined TikTok in July 2019 and gained millions of followers in less than a year. Addison is a trained dancer and has been dancing competitively since she was six years old. She aspires to be a professional actress.

Career

Addison grew up in Louisiana to parents Monty Lopez and Sheri Easterling. Both her parents have their own TikTok accounts Her mom has more than 7 million followers and her dad has more than 2 million followers. She also has two younger brothers. Her entire family is on TikTok.

Addison first joined TikTok after she was babysitting one night and she posted a video as a joke. The video went viral, and that was the start of her fame. She posts lip-syncing and dancing videos that thousands of users recreate.

Her account grew to more than 30 million followers overnight; the star attributes her success to consistency on each platform, posting three to five times a day. With nearly 50 million followers, she is one of TikTok’s most popular personalities. Even Australian rapper The Rod laroi wrote a song named after her.

Since joining TikTok, Addison has worked with a number of celebrities on collaborations, including Kourtney Kardashian, Jason Derulo, Charli D’amelio, James Charles, Mackenzie Ziegler and David Dobrik.

She even filmed a video with her mom dancing to Mariah Carey’s “Obsessed” and when Mariah herself liked the video, it went viral.

Addison attended Louisiana State University for three months before dropping out to move to Los Angeles and pursue TikTok. Originally, she had planned to pursue sports broadcasting and work as a sports activities broadcaster. Addison says that in the future, she’d like to finish her degree, but right now she’s focusing on TikTok.

In late 2019, Addison joined several other TikTok stars to form the Hype House in Los Angeles. She does not live in the physical Hype House, but still partakes in their videos. Earlier in the year, it was rumored that Addison would be leaving the Hype House, but she is still a member to this day.

In the past, Addison and best friend Dixie D’amelio had a brief, public argument when it came out that Addison had liked some anti-Charli comments on TikTok. In a statement, Addison said she had liked the comments before she knew the D’amelio sisters. The star had just gotten out of a mentally abusive relationship after five years.

However, Addison, Charli and Dixie patched up their issues and even reunited on TikTok for a collaboration after the comments came to light. She attended the 2020 NBA All-Star weekend alongside Charli and Dixie as well.

In January 2020, Addison signed with the talent agency WME. The talent agency will work on building Addison’s career in modeling, fashion, digital ventures, podcasts, tours, licensing and more.

Her parents Sheri and Monty also signed with the talent agency. WME also represents the Hype House and has been signing TikTok stars as they become famous.

Addison’s family will also work with the Endeavor Foundation to support charitable causes.

The TikTok star briefly dated internet personality Bryce Hall in 2019, though the two broke up after deciding they should be friends.

However, rumors surfaced in 2020 that the two might be back together. It was also rumored that she bailed Bryce out of jail in May 2020 and he was arrested on charges of drug possession.
