Julianna Grace LeBlanc, known as Annie LeBlanc on social media, is an American social media star, actress and former gymnast. She rose to fame as a young gymnast on her own YouTube channel and her family’s YouTube channel, initially intended just for family members.
Since then, Annie has gone on to release her own album and multiple singles, as well as star in numerous TV shows and YouTube movies. Annie has been called one of the most famous teens in the world by Business Insider.
Julianna Grace LeBlanc, known as Annie LeBlanc on social media, was born on December 5, 2004 in Fort Gordon, Georgia to parents Billy and Katie. Annie has two siblings: a younger sister named Hayley and an older brother named Caleb. Caleb passed away in 2015 at the age of 13 due to a heart condition, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
As of August 2020, Annie has more than 16 million TikTok followers, 8.8 million Instagram followers, 372,500 Twitter followers and 3.95 million YouTube subscribers.
When she was just 2 years old, Annie started taking gymnastics classes at her local gym. Her family would post videos of her online in the coming years under the account Acroanna and she first rose to fame as one of the three siblings on the YouTube channel Bratayley. Annie continued to train as a gymnast until 2017. The family YouTube channel was at first just for relatives, so they could keep up with the family and their lives. However, the YouTube channel took off. She stopped making videos for the family channel in 2019 to focus on individual projects.
Annie first joined TikTok when it was Musical.ly under the name presshandstands7, but later changed her handle to her own name. She became increasingly popular by posting a variety of videos to the platform and now has millions of followers. In 2018, she was awarded the Shorty Award for Muser of the Year on TikTok. The family later moved to Los Angeles, California, so Annie could start her career as an actress and singer.
Annie worked to transition into the music industry in 2017 after some speculation about her personal life. In 2017, fans of Annie started to speculate that she was dating fellow social media star Hayden Summerall. Fans called them “Hannie” and wrote complex fanfiction about their relationship and lives, and even went so far as to photoshop photos of them together.
The pair collaborated on a YouTube cover of “Little Do You Know” by Alex & Sierra and the cover went viral. Their alleged relationship led Brat media founder Rob Fishman to cast the pair in an upcoming show and based it on their fake relationship.
Meanwhile, the pair’s cover of “Little Do You Know” debuted at number 48 on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart. That same year, her cover of “Fly” by Maddie & Tae debuted at number 34 on the Country music charts.
Annie released her first original single in 2017 titled “Ordinary Girl.” She followed it up by announcing her own U.S. tour, launching in 2018.
In 2018, Annie released the single “Little Things” and later released her first album, a compilation album called “Lollipop” with the label Heard Well. The album included two of her own songs: “Somebody’s Heart” and “Photograph.” Later that year, she released “Picture This” with social media star Austin Brown and a new Christmas song, “It’s Gonna Snow.”
Annie continued her work on screen in 2017 as well as the host of “We Are Savvy,” a teen magazine series on Canada’s Family Channel. Her series focused on music, fashion and lifestyle and received millions of views on YouTube.
The same year, she starred in “Chicken Girls” on the Brat network’s new show on YouTube, and “Attaway High.” “Chicken Girls: The Movie” was later created by Lionsgate, and Skyhorse Publishing is working on turning the show into a book series.
Annie was cast in several other Brat shows: an upcoming series with her sister and “A Girl Named Jo” with Addison Riecke, which takes place in a small town in 1963. In addition, she starred in Brat’s feature film “Holiday Spectacular” and “Spring Breakaway.”
In 2020, Annie was cast in Nickelodeon’s “Side Hustle” with Jayden Bartels. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pair got their own talk show titled “Group Chat” as well, which premiered in May 2020.
