Our TikTok Money Calculator estimates a TikTok influencer's earnings based on the total number of followers and the total number of likes on their TikTok account. You also have to specify the number of videos on your page, as it helps calculate your average engagement rate.
Simply enter all the required information, and our calculator will provide an estimate of your potential earnings per post.
Let's say you have 50k followers on TikTok. You have posted 200 videos to date, and your total number of likes is 200k. Since the video count scale in our tool goes up by five, we'll enter 205 videos in our calculation.
According to the TikTok Money Calculator, your account's engagement rate is 1.95%, and your estimated earnings per post are $81 to $121.
These estimates are in accordance with the survey conducted by Shopify, which found that micro-influencers (accounts with 10,000 to 100,000 followers) can earn around $25 to $125 per post. With 50k followers, you are considered a micro-influencer, and our calculator's estimate falls within this range.
Let's try the calculator with an actual TikTok influencer. Withloveleena is a fashion and lifestyle TikTok influencer with 526k followers and 14 million likes. Since TikTok doesn't show the number of videos on an account, we used Tokcounter to find that she has posted 455 videos.
The calculator showed us that she has an engagement rate of 5.85%. Plus, she earns anywhere from $844 to $1,266 per post.
Again, it's important to note that these are just estimates, and the actual earnings can vary depending on other factors. For instance, Leena is a Muslim influencer, and she caters to a specific audience, which may also be a factor in her earnings.
She's also in the fashion and lifestyle niche, which is highly profitable for influencer marketing. More importantly, she has two sisters who are also influencers, which means brands can potentially reach a larger audience by collaborating with all three of them.
Together, these factors can contribute to her earning more than the estimated range.

Which Factors Affect Influencer Earnings on TikTok?
As a TikTok influencer, you should be familiar with the factors that impact how much you earn on the platform. You can then use this information to tweak your content to maximize earnings.
Some of these factors, such as follower count, take some time to build up, while others, such as content quality and niche selection, can be influenced through strategic decisions and actions.
Number of Followers
This one's pretty obvious: the more followers you have, the more you can expect to earn. However, followers alone don't suffice. Your audience should be engaged, too. But generally, bigger accounts have a higher chance of attracting big brands.
Take Chris Olsen as an example. He's a famous TikTok influencer with 13 million followers. So, naturally, he gets sponsorships from top brands. He has also been invited to big events like the Grammys. A higher number of followers brings more opportunities, ultimately increasing your earnings.

Another similar example is Anna Sitar. She has 11.9 million followers and over 1.8 billion likes on her account. Again, she gets invited to top events like the 2024 Olympics and gets partnership opportunities with some of the biggest brands in the world.
Not only that, she also got to collaborate with PACSUN on a swimwear line, which boosted her earnings significantly. So, a larger following also helps you tap into the business world rather than simply provide your services as an influencer.
Engagement Rate
Besides the number of followers, the extent to which your audience is engaged with your content also affects your earnings. Brands want to work with influencers who have a loyal and engaged fan base, as it increases the chances of their products reaching potential customers.
Sometimes, an influencer may have hundreds of thousands of followers but barely get 10k views on their videos. Such a low engagement rate can be a red flag for brands, so they avoid working with these creators. On the other hand, someone with a smaller number of followers but a high engagement rate can still attract big brands and earn well from collaborations.
Take Gabbi Cows as an example. She has 402k followers but hardly manages to get 20k views on her videos. We calculated her estimated earnings per post using our calculator, and it came to under $1,000 per post. With over 400k followers, this may seem like a low amount. But her engagement rate is just a little over 4.5%.
A low engagement rate usually doesn't affect big creators as much since they have a large number of followers to compensate for it. However, for small creators, 4.6% of 400k followers means that only around 18k followers are actively engaged with her content. So, it makes sense why a brand wouldn't want to pay too much for a collaboration with her.
On the other hand, let's take Meredith Duxbury. She has 18.7 million followers and over 741 million likes. Our calculator showed that her engagement rate is just 2.01%, which is less than half of Gabbi's. However, since she has such a massive following, she can still make anywhere from 29,000 to $45,000 per post.
So, there's a clear difference in how engagement rate affects different creators. Smaller influencers must have a higher engagement rate to attract brands and earn well, while larger influencers can still make a substantial income even with a lower engagement rate.
Niche
Some niches are more popular and profitable than others on social media. For example, fashion, beauty, travel, cooking, comedy, health supplements, and lifestyle are some of the most popular niches on TikTok.
Similarly, some niches have originated through the platform itself and are understandably profitable. One such example is ''cleantok.'' It's a subset of TikTok where creators show themselves cleaning their homes and organizing living spaces. The hashtag #cleantok has over 4.3 million posts under it, which shows its popularity.
Influencers who create content in TikTok-friendly niches can also stand to make more money than those in less popular areas. Take Jennifer Tavernier as an example. She is a TikTok fitness influencer with over 964k followers on the platform in comparison to just 271k on Instagram. Why the difference? Because as we've mentioned, fitness is a highly sought-after niche on TikTok.

As you can see, both creators, even though in the same category, have identified their distinct audiences. They create content specifically targeted to these people rather than delving into each other's territories.
That's exactly what you'll have to do when creating content: find your audience and stick to creating content for them instead of trying to keep everyone happy. It may take time, but the results will be worth it.
Perfect Your Profile
One of the most essential sections of TikTok is your profile. This is your "page" where you can establish your identity. You want your profile to appear attractive to your intended audience.
Your profile needs to highlight your identity as a creator. It needs to show your intended audience why they should subscribe to your page.
If you are beginning from scratch, you have the chance to create the perfect username. You want it to be easy for people to say and spell and preferably relevant to you and your niche.
Ideally, you should have the same username on all your social profiles so your TikTok fans will know when they have found your YouTube, Twitch, and Instagram channels.
TikTok also lets you pin videos to the top. These videos are the first ones anyone visiting your profile will see. Use this feature to show your best and most popular content.
Most people pin their videos with the most views. Since these videos are on the top, new visitors also click on them first, further increasing the views.

For example, the.navarose, a TikTok influencer with 5.7 million followers, has written "fashion + sustainability" in her bio, which tells any new visitors what kind of content they can expect from her. Her Instagram and YouTube account handles are also in her bio so that people can follow her on other platforms.

Follow the Basic Rules and Conventions When Uploading Videos
Keep TikTok's Community Guidelines in mind when posting on the platform. It's best to go through the restricted content categories list to ensure your content won't get taken down.
There should be nothing inappropriate in your videos; no hate speech, racism, etc. Also, do not post offensive or controversial content that can damage your brand's image.
Even if your content is a bit risqué, make sure it follows TikTok's guidelines. Notkahnjunior does this remarkably well. However, she does this without crossing any lines or exposing any sensitive information. She always blurs out sensitive information and never makes fun of or shames anyone. More importantly, she doesn't make such videos for anyone under the age of 18.
Also, avoid excessive use of hashtags, as they may seem spammy and inauthentic. Stick to relevant and popular hashtags that are related to your video's content.
Produce Consistent Content
You will also want to set up a consistent pattern so that your audience knows what to expect. There's little point in being a "one-hit wonder."

Tokcounter shows that she has posted 1,946 videos on her account, which is an ode to her consistent frequency of posting. If you struggle to keep note of when to post what, you can use a content calendar or make one of your own.
Post Content at Optimal Times
What good is a consistent posting schedule if you're not posting at the optimal times? To put it simply, your videos will have less reach and engagement.
Hootsuite's research shows that the best time to post on TikTok is Thursday at 7 pm. Overall, the early hours of the day seem to be the best time to post, with 6 am - 10 am being the most optimal.
Besides the time, the day also matters. For example, on Mondays, the best time to post is between 9 pm and 11 pm, but on Sunday, you should be posting at 7 am in the morning.
You should also consider your TikTok audience insights to determine the best time to post for your specific following. Try to post content when your followers are most active. Engage With Your Audience
Keeping your audience engaged is key to growing your account. You don't want your followers to feel like they're just watching videos but that they're part of a community.

Participate in Trends, Dances, and Challenges
Part of the reason TikTok got so popular with the younger audience was the rise of dances and trends on the platform. That's why Neil Patel, the digital marketing guru, suggests,
"Try to use trending or popular sounds with your videos. While there is no official confirmed link between using trending sounds and being on the FYP, it usually helps increase popularity."
It won't be wrong to say that trends are the crux of TikTok. Everyone from influencers to brands follows popular trends because the platform's algorithm pushes trending sounds, dances, challenges, and hashtags to user timelines. So, if you want to grow your account, you need to hop on the bandwagon.
For example, the Apple Dance became quite popular on TikTok during the summer of 2024 because Charli XCX's song of the same name became a hit and was regarded as the summer anthem of that year. Even smaller accounts that participated in this trend got their videos featured on the FYP and saw a surge in followers.

TikTok's trending section is a goldmine for finding hashtags that can help you get on the FYP. You can also filter hashtags by location and industry to narrow down your search. Another helpful tip is to check out the hashtags used by top creators in your niche and include them in your video's caption.

Brands can also use niche-specific or branded hashtags to bring more exposure to their videos. Even better, share unique hashtags with your audience and encourage them to use them in their own TikTok videos. That's how you collect user-generated content for your campaigns.
However, don't overcrowd your posts with hashtags. Unlike Instagram and Facebook, longer posts with more hashtags don't perform well on TikTok. So, stick to anywhere between 4 and 6 hashtags for best results. Use the top TikTok hashtags from our guide for best results.
You can search for relevant hashtags in TikTok’s Creative Center under the Trends tab. For example, at the time of writing this article, Marvel’s newest movie, Deadpool x Wolverine, had come out. So, the top hashtags on TikTok were #marvel and #deadpool.
However, as a brand or influencer, you’ll want to use industry-specific hashtags to reach your target audience. TikTok lets you filter hashtags by industry, too. Some industries included in the list are apparel and accessories, baby and kids, business services, education, financial services, and beauty.
We filtered the results by business services, and the top trending hashtags were #pencilcase and #stationaryaesthetic. These results make sense since the article was written during the back-to-school season. You can check the trending section regularly to create content around whatever is popular in your niche during that time.
Make Your Videos Accessible
Social media accessibility is super imperative in the current landscape. You can make your TikTok content accessible by adding alt text to your images and closed captions to the videos.
TikTok also lets you turn on automatic captions. However, you should edit them for accuracy before posting, as they are not always perfect.

Over the years, TikTok has been more proactive than most other social media platforms in helping creators by providing them with analytics tools. The TikTok Studio is an excellent example in this regard. Think of it as your account's control room. It's where you can edit your content, monitor performance, and determine monetization.
You can access TikTok Studio in three ways:
- Download TikTok Studio from the iOS or Android app stores.
- Go to TikTok Studio in your desktop browser.
- Go to your Profile in the TikTok app and tap on TikTok Studio underneath your bio.
One way to use TikTok Studio is to find inspiration for your content. The ''Home'' or ''Overview'' tab at the bottom of the screen shows you trending posts along with their view and engagement numbers. You can also use the Overview section to see key metrics for your own profile. The tab shows you post views, likes, comments, shares, total viewers, and profile views. These metrics can be filtered by the past 7 days, 28 days, 60 days, or custom durations.
You can use this data to determine which types of content perform best on your page. The ''Followers'' sub-section in this tab also shows you your audience's demographics, such as their gender, age, top countries, and regions. You can also see when your audience is most active. Based on this information, you cannot only plan audience-centric content but also post it at optimal times.
Another useful feature of TikTok is the Creator Search Insights. It's only currently available in select regions, but it shows you which topics people are searching for on the platform.

''Search value will also factor into the Creator Rewards Program, which means creating content related to in-demand search topics will increase creators' content's search value.''
So, you can expect to reach a wider audience by creating content around these trending topics.
